…do all the work.
Check out Jami’s blog for some friendly christian-based “mothering” advice…
Because it’s much better than anything I could do myself.
Thanks Jami.
I love to write. I don’t write fancy with big pretty words. I write the way I talk, and somehow it translates onto the computer screen or onto paper much like a conversation… with myself. Yea, that’s just weird I know but you are reading this so apparently you get it{at least sometimes}
I do not plan to write a book… today, or tomorrow. (about once a week someone ask me about my future and writing a book) Someday when I have tons of free hours in the day and am caught up on laundry, or I learn to function with no sleep at all I will write a book. Okay, well I would LOVE to do that someday, but right now is not the time. I need to cuddle with my baby and my boy, and I still like to sleep, a lot.
and that brings me to my next point.
public speaking.
Can I just clarify that I shutter even typing those words. And yet, it seems that is where God is leading me next. A couple of weeks ago someone said to me, “ I am praying for how God will use you to share your story, because it needs to be told.” I had a horrible suspicion after that, that the day would come when someone, somewhere would ask me to actually stand in front of people and “tell my story”. I could rather write until my fingers were bloody stumps then actually have to stand up in front of a crowd. Well, we said yes anyway. I am praying for some kind of holy intervention, like maybe Jesus will show up to speak for me or something super cool like that, because this is out of my comfort zone.
Okay, well I’m pretty sure Jesus isn’t going to come strolling into my church to do it for me, but I do think I will need his help. I’m scared, and I feel sick about it… and yet I lie awake in bed at night thinking of all of the things I want to say and something about that is exciting.
He made this story, and I want to share it the way He wrote it: with both joy and sorrow, trials and successes, the worst days and the best days, tears and laughter, anger and acceptance, life and death.
Yep, so it’s been 12 days since my last post. I am a delinquent blogger suddenly,and I seriously do not know where time went.
Oh wait, yes I do… {keep reading}
I went back to work (and I did not cry even one tear, just for the record)… just 3 days a week, but enough for me to miss my little turkey horribly. (And I have no reason to complain at all because she is right inside the house with her grandmas or aunt Kelsi while I work just feet away in the salon… so technically I see her anytime I want) Okay but still. It’s a busy life with a newborn and a business to take care of.
It’s summer people, and we’ve been outside doing the things you do when it’s summertime. We are soaking up the sun, drinking fresh squeezed lemonade with our feet in the sand, and making sandcastles. Well, actually we’re doing none of those because she’s the sweatiest little creature I’ve ever seen, and I feel bad having her out of the air conditioning for even a short time. All those curls are like insulating her brain, and causing her sweat glands to work overtime. Her head drips sweat when it’s 80 degrees and she’s naked, in the shade. I’m not kidding… poor baby. We have been going for little strolls in the stroller, and hanging out under the umbrellas at the swimming pool though.
We had our first official family of 3 photos taken last weekend….
Isn’t that the sweetest thing?
Rachel took our pictures when I was pregnant with Jude, and she offered to come and capture these memories for me with my next baby. Her work is soo my taste, and I could not love her eye for “capturing the moment” more. These photos also prompted the upgrade of the ole blog… thank you new header for the spruce up.
When it comes to blogging, either you are “feeling it”.. or you’re not. Lately, I have been more on the side of not. Today I sat down and cranked out a couple of posts for you to enjoy while we are vacationing with family for the next week or so. I am hopeful that when we get home I will be feeling relaxed, refreshed, and ready to tackle real life with a job, a baby, a husband, a blog, and well…life too.
Well that, and my sister told me to stop trying to be so “deep” and just write about normal everyday stuff… so prepare yourself for “normal” stuff. Because Kelsi said so.
We are off for 8 days of boating, swimming, and soaking up the sun… or ah, I mean cuddling with my sweaty brown baby in the shade.
